Dear Collaborators,

Last night, a letter went out from local business sector representatives requesting the Governor to orderly reopen the economy of Puerto Rico, in phases, with the proper security parameters. In addition, they propose the creation of a plan in collaboration with the government to reactivate the country’s economic development.

The letter is endorsed by more than 70 organizations, including those of higher impact non-profit organizations, such as Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico.

The safety and well-being of our employees and their families, as well as our participants and their families are our number one priority. Therefore, our team is working hard so that, once the Government authorizes non-profit organizations to resume services, we can reactivate our direct services in phases:

• The distribution of hot meals as part of our Food and Nutrition Program.

• Distribution of materials and educational reinforcement to the families of the participants.

• Socio-emotional support through our organization’s social work leaders.

• The cleaning, sanitation and disinfection of the Clubs for their reopening and readiness to resume educational, social and support activities.

Our commitment is to keep you informed about the steps we are taking in this direction with the transparency that characterizes us. For this reason, our employees and you will be the first to know the action plan for the restoration of our direct service.

We are available to continue the dialogue with you and to clarify any doubts so that we can move together towards the new reality that this pandemic has forced on us.

Cordially,

Olga Ramos Carrasquillo, Esq.
