STRATEGIC ALLIANCE TO MOTIVATE FAMILIES TO SAVE

Vimenti, Rovira Foods and Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico seek to cultivate the habit of saving by using the cans of Export Sodas crackers as piggy banks

(San Juan, Puerto Rico – February 23, 2021) Vimenti by Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico (BGCPR) and Rovira Foods delivered more than 2,000 cans of Rovira Export Sodas crackers to residents of Vimenti and BGCPR communities. Beyond giving food to the neediest families in Puerto Rico, the alliance seeks to encourage the habit of saving by educating participants and encouraging the reuse of the Rovira tin as a piggy bank

“A piggy bank can transform the future of our children and youth. If we teach through practice about the importance of creating the habit of saving, youth will understand it’s lifelong benefits.” said Lola Yglesias, Vimenti’s Director of Operations.

“Thanks to this alliance with Vimenti and BGCPR, our product can benefit low-income communities by encouraging their members to create a savings model. In the long run, this will allow them to increase their chances of success and to achieve financial stability and a secure future. It will be a fun way for our children to foster a good habit, ”said María Eugenia Argomaniz, Marketing Manager for Rovira Foods.

“We appreciate the initiative of our allies and collaborators: Rovira Foods and Vimenti. Our communities can count on efforts like this, which in addition to feeding, promote the habit of saving in an entertaining way, complementing our programs that promote the economic security of our participants and their families,” said Joan Rivera, Director of Operations for BGCPR.

Upon delivering the crackers cans, Vimenti participants and community members received an invitation to use the cans to create a piggy bank. Participants are welcome to take pictures of the piggy banks and upload them to their social media accounts by tagging Vimenti and Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico with the hashtag #ConstruyendoMiFuturo

“We are creating the foundation for developing good financial habits in a fun way. We also urge the participants to motivate other families to join in and begin to develop a savings model,” Yglesias concluded.
