Their stories represent the experiences and challenges faced by more than 19,000 children and teens who participate in our programs each year.

Being selected as Youth of the Year represents a unique opportunity to serve as an ambassador for Puerto Rican youth in forums across Puerto Rico and the United States, to speak about the challenges facing young people, and to demonstrate what youth can achieve when they have access to opportunities to grow, lead, and build a future with greater possibilities.

Each Youth of the Year represents far more than an individual recognition: they represent the strength of a new generation of leaders that is both strong and hopeful—young people who, when given support, opportunities, and adults who believe in them, transform their present and help open the path toward a future with greater possibilities for all.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Meet our Youth of the Year” font_container=”tag:h1|font_size:42px|text_align:center|color:%230081C6|line_height:1″ google_fonts=”font_family:Bungee%3Aregular|font_style:400%20regular%20normal%3A400%3Anormal” css=”.vc_custom_1773439483511{margin-bottom: 12px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_section full_width=”stretch_row” content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1773423629351{padding-top: 12px !important;padding-right: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 12px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;background: #FFFFFF38 url(https://bgcpr.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Bacgound-0.png?id=47037) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_row equal_height=”yes” parallax=”content-moving-fade” css=”.vc_custom_1773423498836{margin-bottom: 16px !important;padding-right: 16px !important;padding-left: 16px !important;background-color: #FFFFFF45 !important;border-radius: 10px !important;border-color: #EAEAEA !important;}”][vc_column parallax=”content-moving” width=”1/4″ css=”.vc_custom_1773422177865{background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ awb_type=”image” awb_image_background_position=”50% 50%” css=”.vc_custom_1773425785976{border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 1px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 1px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;background-color: #FFFFFFD6 !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;border-radius: 10px !important;border-color: #FFFFFF69 !important;}” awb_image=”47094″][vc_single_image image=”47122″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” css_animation=”fadeInLeft” css=”.vc_custom_1773432881737{border-radius: 10px !important;border-color: #FFFFFF29 !important;}”][vc_custom_heading text=”Dimari Peña” font_container=”tag:h1|font_size:42px|text_align:center|color:%230081C6|line_height:1″ google_fonts=”font_family:Bungee%3Aregular|font_style:400%20regular%20normal%3A400%3Anormal” css=”.vc_custom_1773432604191{margin-bottom: 12px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=””]

Boys & Girls Club of Las Margaritas

Dimari grew into her voice at the Club, finding mentors who saw her potential and helped her build confidence.
