BGCPR names Bayamón teen 2026 Youth of Year

Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico named Bayamón participant Yenzielys Estrada its 2026 Youth of the Year, recognizing her leadership and personal development through the organization’s programs.
Estrada, who has participated in the nonprofit’s programs since age 6, was selected from nine finalists representing clubs throughout Puerto Rico. The organization said Youth of the Year is its highest recognition and its main leadership development program.
Estrada described how Boys & Girls Clubs helped her overcome depression, bullying and academic struggles while building confidence and leadership skills. She said she hopes to become a clinical psychologist focused on children and youth facing mental health challenges.
