Jeiel Batista has recently named as Youth of the Year 2021 of Las Margaritas Club! This achievement joins another he is about to achieve: entering university next year, to become the first generation in his family to take that step.
At the Club, which he has attended since he was 11 years old, he developed his skills and his passion for basketball, a sport that he wants to practice at a professional level. “At some point, I would like to create a project that encourages the arts and sports among young people, without the need to give grades,” says who would work to eradicate the stigmatization of people who, like him, live in public housing projects. “I am also concerned about the current problems of gender inequality and racism.”
Congratulations, Jeiel, for inspiring young people with your leadership, academic and personal accomplishments!
