BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF PUERTO RICO PAUSES DIRECT SERVICE AT CLUBS

 

San Juan, Puerto Rico March 15, 2020-To protect the health and well-being of the thousands of children and youth served through its service centers (Clubs) and the health of its employees, and to avoid the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), Olga Ramos Carrasquillo, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico (BGCPR), announced a pause of the services offered at the 11 Clubs that operate around the Island as of Monday, March 16.

“We are in uncertain times, worldwide, regarding the issue of health. We will do what is necessary in terms of safety, with the health of our employees and the community as a priority.” said Ramos Carrasquillo.

Mrs. Ramos urged all employees and communities served by the organization to stay at home and collaborate to manage this new challenge. “Like everyone else, we will go through this challenge together, focused on the cause that drives us. Stay tuned for the latest changes related to the COVID-19 response, always keeping calm ”, she concluded.
