Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico’s participants benefit from The Toy Movement, an annual initiative by the global children’s entertainment company Spin Master
The non-profit, community-based organization Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico (BGCPR) was selected this year by Spin Master, a leading global children’s entertainment company, to be the recipient of The Toy Movement, a Spin Master led initiative with a mission to deliver inspiration, imagination and joy to children around the world, regardless of circumstance. Transforming the Luis Muñoz Marín Park in San Juan into a space of joy, Spin Master donated more than 17,000 toys benefiting children, youth and families who participate in BGCPR’s early childhood programs Head Start and Early Head Start.
The donation made by Spin Master, also a partner of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, doesn’t stop here. In the coming weeks, it extends its impact to the 11 after-school centers of BGCPR in Arecibo, Aguas Buenas, Bayamón, Carolina, Isabela, Loíza, Mayagüez, San Juan, San Lorenzo, and Vieques, delivering the joy of play to every corner of Puerto Rico.
“In the communities we serve, where 9 out of 10 participants live under federal poverty levels, this event is more than a toy donation; it is a ray of hope in the lives of those who need it most. The smiles of the children, youth, and families receiving Spin Master’s donation during these festivities fill us with enthusiasm. We are grateful that companies of this global caliber join the allies supporting our multigenerational transformation movement focused on eradicating child poverty,” expressed Olga Ramos Carrasquillo, President of Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico.
“The inherent right to experience the joy of play belongs to every child, regardless of their circumstances,” said Tammy Smitham, VP Communications and Corporate Citizenship of Spin Master. “We are grateful for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico who have been instrumental in helping us deliver inspiration, imagination and that pure joy that comes with play to children in Puerto Rico.”
