BAZAAR TO CELEBRATE SUCCESS STORIES AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP OF YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS

Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico will hold this inspiring bazaar at its learning and development center located in Bayamón

(San Juan, Puerto Rico – November 16, 2022) Within the framework of the Entrepreneurship Month, young people and adults who have started their businesses after participating in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico (BGCPR) programs will celebrate the Bazaar de Emprendimiento Vaquero tomorrow Thursday, November 17 at 3: 00 pm at the Boys & Girls Club of Bayamón facilities. The open-to-the-public event is an opportunity to shop for the holidays, support local businesses, and learn about success stories from the socioeconomically disadvantaged communities the nonprofit organization serves.

“As part of our innovative services and commitment to address poverty from a two-generational perspective, we encourage an entrepreneurial and proactive mentality in our children, youth, and adults so they learn to solve problems, and develop business skills and competencies that are necessary for academic and professional success in any field. In the process, business ideas arise that we can help guide”, says Olga Ramos Carrasquillo, president of BGCPR.

“In this direction, we also have entrepreneurship programs such as E-Hub, which aims to create a micro-ecosystem to promote the economic mobility of adults over 18 years of age through the establishment of micro-enterprises. Nine out of 10 participants in our learning and development centers live in poverty. But, as the participants of the Vaquero Entrepreneurship Bazaar demonstrate, they have the will to move forward and are an example that, with the appropriate guidance, accompaniment, and mentoring, our vulnerable populations can head towards academic, economic, professional, and personal success.”, adds the executive.

Among the products that will be exhibit as part of the bazaar, there will be clothing, accessories for pets, plants, skin care and home care products, food, toys, books and crafts. The activity will last until 6:00 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Bayamón, located on Avenida Millones, right next to the Police Headquarters.
