TAPE CUT ON HEAD START AND EARLY HEAD START OF RAMOS ANTONINI

To the sound of “batucada” and children’s music, the Head Start and Early Head Start (HS and EHS) centers of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico (BGCPR) officially opened in the Ramos Antonini residential area, for families and surrounding communities.

The event was joined by the secretary of the Family Department, Carmen González; the administrator of ACUDEN, Roberto Pagán; community leaders, the administrator of the residential, members of the board of directors of Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto, the management team of Vimenti and BGCPR, among other guests from the community.

“En route to the celebration of 55 years of Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico in September, we are pleased that through the administration of eight Head Start and Early Head Start centers we are getting closer to a dream and a goal that we had as an organization. : extend our services to boys and girls from an early age, as well as their families”, said Olga Ramos Carrasquillo, president of BGCPR.

“It is significant to start here, in the Ernesto Ramos Antoni community where BGCPR founded its first footing until it grew and now has 11 other service centers or Clubs, from Mayagüez to Vieques. Our commitment is to continue seeking and gathering resources, and being innovative in our programs to positively impact more and more people so that they obtain economic security and social inclusion”, added Lcda. Ramos Carrasquillo.

For her part, Nora Boschetti, director of HS and EHS of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, explained that “through the centers, we trust that together with families we will be able to close the learning and opportunity gap that has affected them for years. so much. Our team of professionals, who have a proven commitment to the search for equity, justice, and inclusion of the most vulnerable, and with compliance and accountability, is more than ready to receive families, walk and grow with them” .
